Full Job Description

The purpose of this role is to complete, to the required quality standards, the preparation of samples for a given method and to assist in the efficient day-to-day operation of the laboratory.

This is a permanent position working 37.5 hours per week - Wednesday to Sunday 07:00 - 15:00.

Full training for this role is provided, no previous experience necessary.

  • Preparation and analysis of water samples utilising good laboratory practice.

  • Preparing and dispensing consumables

  • Undergo training and follow laboratory SOPs and Safe Systems of Work

  • Ensure samples received are handled in accordance with documented procedures, including attention to temperature control, storage and maintenance of sample integrity.

  • Maintenance of accurate and systematic records as detailed in the quality procedures.

  • Perform calibrations, daily checks and other quality related tasks as required.

  • Work with the team to drive the laboratory forward through continuous improvement.

  • Report any anomalies or concerns to direct report.

  • Provide a high level of internal and external customer care.

  • Comply with Health and Safety procedures keeping the working environment clean and tidy.

  • Maintenance of laboratory fittings and equipment as directed.

  • Ensure personal protective equipment is worn in accordance with the Health & Safety policy.

    GCSE educated in Maths, English, Science or above or equivalent.

  • Experience in a fast paced working environment

  • Awareness of good laboratory practices

  • Enthusiasm, energy and a driven outlook
