Full Job Description

Thank you for your interest in the Teacher of English post at Haberdashers' Abraham Darby. We have an excellent opportunity for an inspirational and innovative English teacher to join the existing English team from September 2024. You will have experience of teaching English from Year 7 to Year 11, and ideally to A level. You will have high standards for your pupils and you will be willing to contribute to the wider life of the school (extra-curricular activities).

We believe that every single child who joins us has the potential to be knowledgeable, articulate and successful. It's important this resonates with all candidates. Equally important is subject expertise, which is critical to support strong curriculum planning and implementation. We are looking for someone who is able to enthuse, motivate and inspire children, generating a love for learning. The aptitude to demonstrate excellent subject knowledge and to consistently teach inspirational and innovative lessons is essential. Good teamwork, high standards and a capacity for hard work will be at the core of the successfully appointed person.

This a full-time post - but part-time will be considered the right candidate - and is suitable for both experienced teachers and ECTs. We welcome applications from forward-looking colleagues who relish sharing their skills and ideas and who want the chance to make their mark in helping to take the department and the Academy to the next level. The successful candidate will join us at a very exciting stage in its development both as a school and a department.

Our pupils are delightful. We are minutes away from Ironbridge Gorge and some beautiful countryside and we'd love to have you on our team. We look forward to receiving your application soon.

We are looking for someone to start September 2024.

Salary: MPS to UPS - with Golden Hello payment offered
