Full Job Description

  • Support and manage the development, testing and implementation of technology-related BI solutions

  • Responsible for providing technical controls and governance over SCUK reporting datasets

  • Partner with the business to understand their reporting requirements, and provide the systems and data to allow these requirements to be met via BI self-service capabilities

  • Work with third party infrastructure provider to manage the BI infrastructure effectively

  • Manage development from third-party development providers, and third-party consultancy where appropriate

  • Manage development of BI projects and small changes effectively to deliver changes to the appropriate level of quality, on time and on budget

  • Manage a team of BI Analysts, including direct line management and resource management, to ensure effective delivery to the business.

  • Responsible for ensuring best practices, training, and documentation are followed to allow BI solutions to be used effectively by MI analysts within the business

  • Data Technology Delivery: Responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of the organization's business intelligence systems and tools. Management of the Business Intelligence deliverables of SCUK projects, ensuring they are delivered in a timely, accurate and controlled manner.

  • Data Warehouse ownership : Ownership and management of all changes impacting the BI Data Warehouse. Data item level documentation kept up to date to provide a consolidated view of the fields in the data warehouse and their traceability. Testing and documentation captured centrally and to a high quality.

  • Line Management: Direct line management of SCUK BI Analysts participating in development activities. Prioritisation of work, setting and monitoring of objectives, performing quarterly and annual reviews, development of individuals, and delegation of activities within the team.

  • Data Strategy: work with the rest of the data team to design and implement data initiatives which contribute to the SCUK data strategy and align to the overall company strategy.

  • Adhering to our commitment to Consumer Duty ensuring we put our Customers' needs first and set higher and clearer standards of consumer protection

    Practical experience in a similar role with demonstrable experience of developing, implementing, managing and monitoring, business intelligence and data custodian controls adapted to the organisation served

  • Proven experience and ability in dealing with staff at all levels of a similar sized organisation or larger

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills

  • Ability to provide feedback on BI design and solutions in a structured manner and adapt good practice to meet the needs of the SCUK business

  • Demonstrated initiative and commitment for results and the ability to set priorities and manage multiple initiatives

  • Ability to adjust to changing priorities while multitasking effectively

  • Solid work ethic with attention to detail

  • Project management experience in the implementation of BI solutions

  • ITIL Foundation (or equivalent) is desirable

  • Prince II Practitioner (or equivalent) is desirable

  • Certified Business Intelligence Professional (CBIP) is desirable

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in relevant field (e.g. Data Science, Computer Science, or Business Analytics) is desirable
