Full Job Description

Hours: Friday-Monday - Nights (40 hours per week) - Flexibility required to support other shifts as required,

  • Coordinating all weekend hub activities, ensuring that all inbound and outbound movement by road and air is processed in accordance with GSOP.

  • To control / monitor and report all Weekend Hub activities, ensuring that service, cost, safety and legal requirements are maintained.

  • Co-ordinate all communications to the following groups EMA SMT, EMA OPS SMT Sort, Ramp, and Air Ops.

  • Reporting and contingency planning:

  • + To monitor the Inbound / Outbound network, assisting and reacting to any changes that affect EMA HUB and ensuring that information is cascaded along the correct channels.
    + Provide visibility to the Operations SMT of Daily shift resource forecasting.
    + Co-ordinate, review and ensure reporting is in place for all issues including: Capacity, Connectivity, & Nightly Recaps.
    + Act as the point of escalation.
    + Ensure that ALL material is uplifted by the normal scheduled movements failing which, ensure adequate contingency plans are implemented to avoid delays.
  • Line management:

  • + Oversee the monitoring of all on site Supervisory staff and offer assistance, advise, guidance and escalation when required.
    + Apply CIM methodologies into the everyday workplace with a focus on respect and results
    + Define development plans, outline expectations, and identify training needs.
    + Conduct monthly 1:2:1's, evaluate annual performances.
    + Hold regular PD's / team meetings with direct reports.
    + Address and monitor performance of team and individuals regularly, managing underperformance in a skilled manner & providing recognition when earnt.
    + Provide leadership and support to teams being visible within the operational environment.
    + Manage any ER related issues with support from HR including but not limited to: SCM, misconduct, flexible working requests, maternity etc.
  • Customer and Stakeholder engagement:

  • + Coordinate with the Operations, NCG, Road ops supervisory teams to ensure that Site operations are planned and executed.
    + Coordinate with other functions e.g. Customs, HR, Security, Facilities, IT Apps, IT, L&D, ACS, Routing & Capacity, Engineering, SCC, Service Quality, QCC, Linehaul etc.
    + Keep and develop contacts with external partners e.g. Airport operations, External Airlines, DHL Service Centers and all regulatory bodies.
    + Development of relationships within the wider DHL group, specifically a network of contacts within Express.
    + Develop contacts with all sub-contract trucking companies.

  • Expected experience:
  • DHL Operational knowledge with a minimum of 5years Network / Operations experience

  • Experience within an operations management / supervisory capacity.

  • Experience in leading high performing teams.

  • Proven record in managing a medium to large team of people

  • Experience within logistics field.

  • Experience driving employee engagement

  • Experience in motivating employees.

  • Continuous Improvement mind-set.
