Full Job Description

As Head Chef, you will work in support of our Hotel Services team, providing a comprehensive, high-quality culinary service, which contributes to the overall well-being of our residents. Our aim is to offer a variety of food which is nutritious seasonal, thoughtful and nourishing. Good quality food with inspirational cuisine can be both a treat and healthy, so no residents will have to feel guilty or left out when enjoying our food offering.,

  • Develop a varied high-quality menu for residents

  • Planning and executing catering for events

  • Supervision of all members of the Culinary team including Sous Chef, Chef de Partie, Kitchen Assistants and Food & Beverage Team.

  • Perform, if necessary, any food service team duties for continual operation of the service.

  • Manage and develop teamwork among the food service team.

  • Preparation of time schedules, purchase reports and inventory.

  • Work within the allocated food/kitchen budget.

  • Working with staff and residents in resolving food service problems.

  • Managing Environmental Health Officer visits ensuring compliance and high standards are met and maintained.

  • Maintaining reports and records for food safety purposes. Ensuring sanitation procedures are being followed and records are kept for temperature checks and cleaning.


  • The role will require you to work shifts on a rota to include weekends.

    Proof of eligibility to work in the UK is essential.

    Our new Hawthorns residence in Northampton is due to open in February 2018. We are currently seeking a passionate, dedicated and creative team player to join us as Head Chef. The Hawthorns in Northampton will provide a unique, high-quality independent living experience in a luxurious and lively hospitality environment., For this position it is essential that you have culinary experience, preferably in a hospitality environment, accompanied by a relevant catering qualifications.
