The proposed interview date is 11th June, Assesses patients, plans and implements care, provides specialist advice; maintains associated records.
- Works as a lead specialist for patients with suspected or diagnosed urological cancers.
- Provides nurse specialist cover for other Urological cancer patients
- Provides specialist education and training to other staff, patients and carers.
-Undertakes research activities and leads clinical audits in own specialist area.
-Provides psychological support to patients and their families also breaking bad news of a cancer diagnosis or disease progression on a regular basis. This will include undertaking the Holistic Needs Assessments at appropriate stages in the patient's pathway.
- Provide support to the Band 6 Urology Oncologist Nurse Specialist/PSA Tracker role and Cancer support worker
- Communicates with a range other staff of all disciplines, acting as a highly specialist resource including liaison with health care providers both within and outside of the Trust regarding diagnosis and treatment advice. To include referral to other professionals e.g Oncologists, for continuation of patient care. Maintaining confidentiality at all times
-Specialist for a defined clinical area providing line management to other members of the team on lower bands.
- Lead and Manage team of CNS ensuring : Appraisals are timely, rosters are completed, HR issues escalated and managed , audits and risk assessments completed and financial awareness and budget reviews completed., The Urology Team is made of 13 Consultants, 8 Clinical Nurse Specialists and 2 Cancer Support Workers along with a specialist administrative team to support the patient journey and experience. Which has been enhanced by the move to a new Urology Department on Alstone Clinic.
