Full Job Description

The post holder is responsible, as part of a team, for providing dedicated administrative support to the Andrology service of WFI. This will include reception duties, typing, word processing and distribution of letters, filing, and maintenance of the patient information management system and patient notes., Answer the telephone, deal with queries relevant to the service

Receive, open, sort, date stamp and distribute incoming mail and prepare outgoing mail, on a daily basis.

Use a computerised system to book appointments

Assist colleagues in providing and maintaining efficient day to day maintenance of the medical records to facilitate optimum accessibility to patient records pertaining to the service.

Planning and Organisational Skills

Manage own time effectively, prioritising own workload to meet competing demands

Escalate complex queries/issues to the Andrology Laboratory Manager.

Communication

To respond to enquiries, providing both written and verbal information, directing queries to other departments/agencies as appropriate.

Personal Development

Take responsibility for own role, identifying any knowledge/skills gaps where additional support/training is needed

Responsible for maintaining IT literacy and updating skills in line with the introduction of new systems within the Health Board

Actively participate in the Health Board's annual appraisal process providing evidence to meet the Knowledge Skills Framework requirements of the post

Attend and keep up-to-date with all statutory and mandatory training requirements commensurate with the role
