Full Job Description

This role has an hourly rate of £15.82 plus an additional annual leave enhancement of £2.37 per hour. This position is offered on a bank contract basis where you will work flexibly as part of the team, with one day a week guaranteed.
We are excited to be hiring an Activity Worker to join our fantastic Hope Service where you will work with young people with complex mental health, behavioural and social care needs.
In this role you will work across both our Epsom and Guildford sites, As an Activity Worker with HOPE your role will form an integral part of the planning and delivering of therapeutic support and education to young people receiving a service, either through the Day Programme or Outreach. You will be actively involved in groups and individual programmes for young people and participate in the delivery of multi-agency programmes.
The focus of the role is to help young people develop problem solving, coping, learning and social interaction skills, promoting educational attainment, and working directly with young people and their families or carers to promote and safeguard their welfare within an integrated service. You will work closely with other members of the team and tailor activities and interventions to help meet young people's agreed therapeutic and educational goals.
The duties cover both elements of the Service, i.e. the Day Programme and Community Work. You will work fully in the multi-disciplinary team and with care co-ordinators in the development, implementation and evaluation of person-centred plans, including educational and therapeutic needs.

  • Ability to demonstrate a good understanding of needs of young people with mental health problems and in care settings

  • Skills and abilities in the delivery of creative, playful and flexible work with young people

  • Experience in working with young people and in using creative and flexible social skills/educational programmes

  • You will need the willingness and ability to travel around the county to meet the demands of this role
